Coventry School Foundation students celebrate outstanding A Level success
August 14, 2025
Students across the Foundation are celebrating another outstanding year of A Level results, with a 100% pass rate and record-breaking achievements at King Henry VIII School and a 98% pass rate and top marks at Bablake.
At King Henry’s, pupils achieved their highest A*-B grades since 2015 (excluding pandemic years). Among the top performers were Phoebe, who earned one of the highest Art grades in the country, and Oscar, who achieved four A*s and will study Computing at Imperial College London. Freya, one of the Heads of School, secured her place at Oxford to study French and Philosophy, while other Heads of School will pursue degrees in Geography, Aeronautical Engineering and Computer Science.
The school’s growing apprenticeship pathway saw Will join GSK in Chemical Process Engineering, Sean head to Balfour Beatty for Civil Engineering, Priya start a Law Apprenticeship with Squire Patton Boggs and Ben begin a Data Analyst role at National Grid.
Medicine continues to be a strong route, with six students heading to medical school, including Aryan with four A*s and Ameze, who combines her medical studies at Nottingham with Super League netball.
At Bablake, 72% of all grades were at A*-B and 15% at A*. Value-added scores show students achieved nearly half a grade higher than national expectations. Among the many success stories are Sophie and Alan, each earning four As and taking up places at Oxford. Annastasia, who arrived in the UK from Ukraine in 2022, achieved AAA and will study Modern Languages at the University of Bath.
School Captains Krish and Daisy will both study Medicine, while Vice-Captain Umarah will pursue Dentistry. Isaac, a lead performer in school productions, will attend the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
CEO & Principal Chris Staley commented:
“This year’s results reflect not only academic talent and determination, but also the character and breadth of our students. Whether they are heading to Oxford, top medical schools, competitive apprenticeships or specialist arts training, each of them has earned their success. We are proud of every single one.”
